about

Since 2010 my parents have lived on the shore of Loch Linnhe on the west coast of the Scottish Highlands. On visits I've seen the spectacular view in all weather conditions from clear blue skies to complete envelopment in cloud; sometimes even on the same day, for it always seems to be changing.

This slow but perpetual shift was the inspiration for this long improvisation, recorded in two passes outside in the back garden as the summer sun lowered in the sky and began to show mercy. Thank goodness for laptops with a few hours of battery power.

The name Linnhe is derived from the Gaelic word linne, meaning 'pool' (thanks Wikipedia).
