IMAGINARY SOUNDTRACKS
a series of pieces produced between 2004 and 2011 which (besides 'Birdbrain') had hitherto been 'homeless', scattered predominantly on my YouTube and SoundCloud channels. They share a 'picture music' feel, in some cases produced directly in tandem with visual footage or later used for video.


ZEN GARDEN
Created in three sessions of activity: September-November 2004, March 2006 and completed with a duduk improvisation by Dylan Menzies on 16th October 2010.

WHAT CAN YOU SEE?
A short solo piece I recorded between Endgame improvisations at the Freeman brothers' Tachyon Studio, 22nd July 2007. It was a practice run for a theme I used on the Endgame album 'Tactile', for which a video was captured:

RORSCHACH'S MORPH
An adaptation of an earlier piece 'The Mating of Moths' made for my experimental video of the same title in late 2008:

FLOTATION
A short improvisation recorded between Endgame sessions at the Freeman brothers' Tachyon Studio, 8th December 2008. I later used it for a timelapse video I made:

SUSPENSION
This was one of the first pieces I made using VST virtual instruments and a Carillon controller keyboard. Recorded on Christmas Day 2008.

CASSIE'S THEME
A looping improvisation produced in early 2009, later used for a short promotional video I made showcasing the artwork of my dear friend Carolyn La Reux (1969-2014) a few months before cancer took her away at the age of 44:

ONE MOMENT PLEASE
An adaptation of my piece 'An Accidental Homage', scored for Jacqueline Cheval's experimental video of the same title. Each visual event had its own aural counterpart. Produced on 3rd-4th May 2009.

PARANOIA
A collaboration with Maureen Anderson who wrote and recited her poetry, October 2009 (my music deriving from an instrumental piece from early 2008). I made a timelapse for this also:

BIRDBRAIN
A January 2011 remix (intended for acousmatic diffusion) stitched together from four movements of my Birdbrain Suite which was produced between 2007 and 2009. Grateful thanks to Victoria Bourne who improvised flute and vocals over my recordings in precisely the manner I was after, without whom this piece would be significantly less.
